Hopefully your scope has enough elevation to dial enough "down" elevation to zero at 100 yards or so. A twenty MOA base would be O.K. and you should be alright with the 30, but a thirty may get a little close to the limit in "down" elevation adjustment with some scopes. If you have a true tactical scope you will probably find it to work very well from close to very long range. Keep us posted! Good thinking on getting a set of 30 mm. rings to make a future upgrade cheap and simple. TPS rings are good and so are Ferrall bases, by all accounts.
